Morning Announcements - Monday, March 9, 2026

The cafeteria will be serving a quesadilla with sour cream and salsa, or Daily Grab & Go, refried beans, fruit choice and milk for lunch today.

The weather report for today is mostly sunny with a high of 62.

Today’s trivia question is: How many Americans eat a quesadilla in a week?

Attention 7th graders:
Remind your parents that we need donations for the fundraising calendar. Without donations we cannot create the May fundraising calendar. Donations are to be handed by March 12. Donation examples could be gift cards from restaurants or stores, or even a gift basket from the hair stylist. If you have any questions, see Mr. LaCivita or Mrs. Bishop.

If you did not order a yearbook and still would like to buy one, see Mrs. Bishop.

The New Revised Penny Wars is Coming for the 6 th , 7 th & 8 th graders. It starts on March 12 and runs through March 18. I wonder who will win this competition.

The EMS 7th and 8th grade Power of the Pen team competed on March 7th at the Regional Competition at St. Charles of Borromeo. For individual awards, Carly Tulik placed 5th overall in the 8th grade, and Josie Rockwell received a Best of Round award for one of her stories
written at the District Competition. As a team, the 8th-grade placed 3rd out of 31 schools! For sweepstakes, which looks at each school's 7th and 8th grade performance overall at the district and regional levels, Edison earned 2nd place! Congratulations to these talented writers for bringing home a victory!

The trivia answer is that about one in three Americans will eat a quesadilla every week.

We would like to close with this quote from American chef Julia Child: “People who love to eat are always the best people.”
