Morning Announcements for Monday, April 22nd

There will be an Interact club meeting on Wednesday, April 24th in the auditorium at 7:15 am. Yes, you heard that right! 7:15 in the morning in the auditorium!  Please attend to hear about a bunch of new and exciting volunteer opportunities! We look forward to seeing you there! The Rotary Club of Milan is partnering with Edison’s Interact club and they are hosting the annual Golden Apple awards. Students are encouraged to pick up a form and nominate an outstanding teacher from any of the Edison buildings! More rules and regulations are listed on the form. Forms can be found in the library or see Mrs. Roan. The deadline to turn the forms in is April 26th! 

On Friday night the JV tennis team went undefeated at Saint Mary's with a win from Keira Keoghan with Wade Ruggles. Way to beat the competition!"

The tennis team lost to St.Marys over the weekend 2-3. Winning for the team at singles were Parker Campbell and Noah Proctor. The team plays a doubleheader later today against St. Joe. The team is now 7-2. 

The Lady Chargers track team scored 82 points at the Huron Invite, finishing in 5th place. Katie Cumston earned the top spot on the podium for the Chargers in the high jump. Grace Anderson placed 3rd in the 800 and 4th in the mile. Lydia McQuillen placed 3rd in the discus and 4th in shot put, Maylie Weilnau was 4th in the 800, Zoey Corfman was 4th in the 400, Kendal Kryger and Jade Ziegelhofer tied for 4th in pole vault. The Chargers put together strong relay performances in the 4x8 (Chaput, Corfman, Anderson, and Weilnau) and 4x4 (Corfman, Chaput, Weilnau, and Berckmueller)  finishing 2nd. 
 
The boy's track team placed 3rd out of 10 teams at the Huron Invite on Saturday scoring 93 points. Leading the way was Trayvon Williams placing 2nd in Long Jump and the 100 and 3rd in the 200 meter dash. The 4x8 team of Chase King, Kellen McDonnell, Everett Gfell, and Jackson Michaelis placed 2nd and the team of Jacoby Valimont, Quentin Cox, Logan Facemire, and Kyle Kardotzke placed 6th. Colin Butler placed 8th in both hurdle races and Trevor Leimeister placed 7th in the 100 and 4th in the 200-meter dash. Jacoby Valimont placed 4th in the mile and Chase King placed 8th. Aiden Reeder won the 400-meter dash and Jackson Michaelis placed 3rd in the 800 with Kellen Mcdonnell placing 5th. Quentin Cox and Everett Gfell placed 5th and 7th in the 3200-meter run respectively. Jace Jeremay placed 3rd in pole vault and Karl Kromer placed 6th, while J Williams took 4th in discus and 5th in shot put. Rounding up the day the 4x400 team of Trevor Leimeister, Chase King, Jacoby Valimont, and Jackson Michaelis took 4th. Great Job Chargers! The team will take on Vermillion at Vermillion tomorrow starting at 4:30.

The varsity baseball team won a pair of games over the weekend, beating Seneca East 16-7 and Margaretta 4-0.  On Friday, Eli Hermes scattered 5 hits over 4 innings and struck out 6 to pick up the win.  Coltyn Meagrow pitched the final 3 innings to pick up the save.  Carson Smith led the offense with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Abe Hermes had 2 hits and 3 RBIs, while Cole Leimeister, Davin Wendt, and Gabe Dymond each had 2 hits.  In Saturday's game against the Polar Bears, Blake Simon pitched a four-hit-complete game shutout.  Carson Smith had 2 hits, Cole Leimeister had a double and one RBI, and Aiden Drake had a hit and 2 RBIs.

The JV baseball team beat Margaretta 12-7.  Brody McFadden, Aaron Febbo, Jacob Kuhl, and Evan Perry each had 2 hits.  Perry picked up the win on the mound, pitching 5 innings with 6 strikeouts.
