Morning Announcements for Tuesday, April 23rd

There will be an Interact club meeting on Wednesday, April 24th in the auditorium at 7:15 am. Yes, you heard that right! 7:15 in the morning in the auditorium!  Please attend to hear about a bunch of new and exciting volunteer opportunities! We look forward to seeing you there! The Rotary Club of Milan is partnering with Edison’s Interact club and they are hosting the annual Golden Apple awards. Students are encouraged to pick up a form and nominate an outstanding teacher from any of the Edison buildings! More rules and regulations are listed on the form. Forms can be found in the library or see Mrs. Roan. The deadline to turn the forms in is April 26th! 

The deadline to purchase a senior ad for the yearbook has been extended to May 3rd. Please consider purchasing one! See Mrs. Roan or a member of the yearbook staff with any questions! 

The tennis team played a doubleheader on Monday against St. Joe and won both matches 5-0. Winners in the first match were Parker Campbell, Aidin Colbert, and Jonah Main in singles. The doubles teams were Andrew Gray/Liz Campbell and Sam McClester/Keira Keoghan. The winners in the second match were Jonah Main in singles and Parker Campbell/Aidan Colbert and Sam McClester/Keira Keoghan in doubles. The team is now 9-2 and travels to Willard later today! 

The varsity baseball team beat Port Clinton 13-0 in 5 innings.  Marcus Medina singled and had 3 RBIs and Abe Hermes singled and had 2 RBIs.  Gabe Dymond, Blake Simon, Carson Smith, Aiden Drake, Cole Leimeister, Elijah Ruck, and James Bickley all had 1 hit.  Carson Smith struck out 8 batters in 3 innings to pick up the win.  Eli Hermes and Abe Hermes both pitched in relief, with Abe striking out all 3 batters he faced.

The Lady Chargers softball team fell to Port Clinton 15-12.  Audrey Linder had 3 hits, 3 runs, and 3 RBI.  Stella Brown had 3 hits and scored 3 times.  Peyton Bissell and Abby Cloud each added 2 Rbi's.  

The Melon Festival Queens contest is for high school girls entering their junior or sentient year at Edison High School!  It is a scholarship program where the queen and her court get the opportunity to travel around Ohio and represent our town and the Melon Festival!  Any future junior or senior girl who is interested in running please contact Mandi Richards, queen coordinator at 419-602-3245.
