Morning Announcements for Wednesday, April 24th

For Lunch:  Wing Wednesday! Boneless Wings w/ Sauce, Daily Grab & Go ~Custom Salad, Cheese Pizza, Served With Broccoli w/Cheese Sauce, Fruit Choice, Milk

The boys track team beat Vermillion in a dual meet last night by a score of 59-58. Leading the way was Trayvon Williams in the 100 and 200, Jackson Michaelis in the 800, the 4x800 team of Trey Hines, Logan Facemire, Quentin Cox, and Kyle Kardotzke, and J Williams in the shot put and Discus. Also, scoring points were Trevor Leimeister getting 2nd in the 100 and 3rd in the 200, Jacoby Valimont and Chase King placing 2nd and 3rd in the 800, Jackson Michaelis and Kellen Mcdonnel placing 2nd and 3rd in the mile, Trey Hines placing 2nd in the 2 mile, Colin Butler placing 2nd in the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. Corbin Thayer and Blayke Mckillips placed 2nd and 3rd in shotput and Jack Woodward and Blayke Mckillips placed 2nd and 3rd in Discus. Great Job boys! The track team will compete this Friday night at the Margaretta Invite.

Despite the rain and a few canceled events, the Lady Chargers put together some great performances to beat Vermilion 53-41. Finishing first for the Chargers were Grace Anderson in the mile and the 800m, Katie Cumston in the high jump, Kendal Kryger in the 100m, Jadelyn Ziegelhofer in the 100m hurdles, Zoey Corfman in the 400, and the 4x8 (H. Chaput, I. Berckmueller, L. Risner, M. Weilnau). The Chargers compete again this Friday at the Margaretta Invite.

The Rotary Club of Milan is partnering with Edison’s Interact club and they are hosting the annual Golden Apple awards. Students are encouraged to pick up a form and nominate an outstanding teacher from any of the Edison buildings! More rules and regulations are listed on the form. Forms can be found in the library or see Mrs. Roan. The deadline to turn the forms in is April 26th! 

The deadline to purchase a senior ad for the yearbook has been extended to May 3rd.  Please consider purchasing one.  See Mrs. Roan or a member of the yearbook staff with any questions!

The Melon Festival Queens contest is for high school girls entering their junior or senior year at Edison High School.  It is a scholarship program where the Queen and her court get the opportunity to travel around Ohio and represent our town and the Melon Festival!  Any future junior or senior girl who is interested in running please contact Mandi Richards, Queen coordinator at 419-602-3245

Attention Writing Club members: since there is no Charger Period today, we will meet next Weds instead. See Mr Ceccoli if you need a copy of the writing prompt.

Anyone interested in running for a class office position or student council may pick up an information sheet from the high school office.  Election details were also emailed to students.  Candidates for office must meet the criteria listed on the information sheet.  Class elections will be completed digitally this year through a Google Form ballot.
