Morning Announcements - Tuesday, April 23, 2024

Today’s trivia question is: The longest baseball game ever played was in 1984 and it took how many innings?

Any 4th or 5th grade student who is interested in band: There will be a meeting tonight, April 23rd in the high school band room at 7 pm. Students will have the opportunity to test out various instruments. Ice cream will be served afterwards.  5th grade band members will have full band today April 23 and tomorrow Wednesday, April 24 during specials 6th grade band members will have full band on Wednesday, April 24, Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26. The 7th and 8th grade bands will have combined rehearsals on Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26. The Choir will meet today April 23 and on Thursday, April 25.

Good Luck to those 5th grade students as they take their test today. Remember to just do your best!

The Charger Track teams competed at Margaretta yesterday afternoon.  The girls team defeated the Polar Bears 76 to 47, while the boys defeated the Bears by the narrow margin of 64 to 63. First place finishes for the ladies went to Tessa Moore in the 100 and 200, Claire Michaelis in the 1600 and high jump, Lyla Stoll in long jump, Madison Geiger in the 400, the team of Morgan Handshoe, Gena Walton, Aria Hayward, and Stella Bloom in the 4 x 200 relay, and the team of Madison Geiger, Juliana Johnson, Stella Bloom, and Autumn Krieg-Moore in the 1600 relay.  Autumn also won the 100 and 200 hurdles, earning her first ace of the season.  For the boys team, first place finishes went to Wesley Seel in the 100 and high jump, Calieb Wigner in pole vault, Will Corfman in the 200, Mason Leber in the 1600, the 4 x 800 relay team of Israyel Bellman, Max Welch, Tyler Leimeister, and Brendan Butler, along with the 4 x 200 relay team of Will Corfman, Austin Mankin, Ben Rosekelly, and Carter Jones.  Austin Mankin also won the 110 and 200 hurdles, earning his first ace of the season.  Nice job Chargers!  Both teams compete again tomorrow at Port Clinton.  

And now the news that everyone in 6th , 7th , & 8th grade has been waiting for. Are you listening? The results are in from the Penny Wars. Taking 3rd place with a negative $128.59 are the 7th grade. In second place with a negative balance of $81.80 are the 6th graders. That means the 8th grade class are the 2024 Penny Wars Champs with a negative $67.55 Pennies do add up! Student Council and Mrs. Bishop would like to say thank to everyone who participated in this fundraising event. As soon as all of the details have been worked out, we will share.

The answer for the today's trivia question is that the longest baseball game ever played lasted 25 innings.
