Morning Announcements - Wednesday, September 4, 2019

Today at 3:30 boys golf will be at Willard, at 4:15, girls tennis is at Perkins, at 4:30, girls golf is at Hopewell Loudon, at 5:00, boys varsity soccer is at Port Clinton and at 7:00 girls varsity soccer is at Port Clinton.

Last night on Thunderbird South the girls golf team set personal records . Jordan Pruitt broke the 9- hole record by shooting 4- under par with a 32 , Lauren Neher 41, Hunter Barylski 43, and Freshman Ava Grant 44, Jacqueline Fry 51 . The team won 160- Edison   -181 Gibsonburg . The girls are on the road tonight at Loudon Meadows  to play Hopewell . Good Luck Ladies and Keep Believing and Recharging!!

The boys golf team lost a close one to Huron 180-184. Aden Hall led all scorers with a 38. Noah Pulaski had 46, Matthew Pounds had 47. Cullen Wilbur rounded out the varsity scoring with his career best 53.

The girls tennis team beat Huron on Tuesday 5-0. Winning at singles were Jayla Medina, Emily Vogus and Alli Vogus. Winning at doubles were the teams of Kaylee Ries/Torri Keyser and Lindsey Kowalski/Emily Moore. Winning for the JV team were the doubles teams of Lili Grant/Emma Horchler, McKenna Shaffoe/Noelle Marcy, Tessa Otto/Kya Gibbs and Emma Horchler/ Andrea Keoghan. The team is now 6-2.

The Lady Chargers JV soccer team played a great game against Willard yesterday evening and took home a win with a 7-0 lead. Scoring for the Chargers were Megan Coleman with two goals, Livia Lowery, Jill Kromer, Brienna Marcy, Halle Patton and Emily Febbo. Goals were assisted by Isabella Sanabria, Emily Febbo, Livia Lowery, and Halle Patton. Shoutout to our defense and keeper Claire Treece for a shut out game. The team will play again Thursday at home against Oak Harbor. 

The JV boys soccer team scored 5 goals to beat Willard last night at Bolt Stadium 5-0. Goals were scored by Miguel Echavarria, Zach Flory and Garret McQuillen, assisted by Miguel Echavarria and Kenny Warren. The team hosts Oak Harbor on Wednesday at 4:30. 

The varsity volleyball team lost to Bellevue 13-25, 30-28, 18-25, 20-25.  Kira Appeman and Lilli Schuster led the team at the net with 14 and 13 kills. Natalie Lambert dished out 14 assists and Kayla Mancuso had 13 digs. The JV volleyball team beat Bellevue 25-20, 21-25, 25-17.  Skylie Hixon led the team with 16 points.  The freshmen volleyball team lost to Tiffin Calvert 18-25, 14-25.  Kalli Quillen led the team in kills and Ciera Barnicle was the top server.

Thank you to all the Drama Club members who helped with the booth at the Melon Festival.  Thanks to your efforts, this was one of the smoothest festivals ever. 

Politics Club will hold its first meeting tomorrow morning (Thursday) from 7:25 -7:45 in room 202.

The Firelands Challenge Academic team will have practice on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 5:00 - 6:00.

Mr. Collins would like to thank all those volunteers who stepped up and filled slots to work Monday at Lemon Shake Up along with those students who worked so hard to clean up after the Melon Festival to make their community clean again.  

We will be offering the ASVAB Military Placement Test on Tuesday, October 2nd at 8:00am. If you are interestested in being in the military this is a test you will need to take.  See Ms. Spademan or sign up at the Counselor's bulletin board by  Thursday, September 26th, 2019

Attention Juniors and seniors: BGSU Firelands College is hosting college night on Tuesday September 10th from 6-7:30! They will be bringing over 70 college reps for you to speak with.  Grab your parents or friends and make plans to be at BGSU on Tuesday September 10th!

Thank you Interact members who helped with the clean up after the Melon Festival.  Your efforts & muscle were truly appreciated!

The first meeting of the year for seniors in National Honor Society will be next Tuesday September 10, right after school in Mrs. Facemire's room. If you can not attend you need to see Mrs. Facemire before the meeting.

Any student interested in joining Key Club is invited to attend a brief meeting tomorrow morning at 7:40 am in the auditorium.

Junior and seniors are reminded if they are interested in doing ACT bootcamp to get your registration and money to the office by September 16th. For more information check your school email!

Students interested in Speech and Debate - The first meeting will be after school on Thursday, September 5th in the auditorium. Ms. Baughman and Mr. Amstutz will be going over events, officer nominations, and other important information. New and former competitors are invited to attend!
