Career Advising Policy

Edison Local School District Career Advising Policy

Edison Local School District Counseling Program Goal

The counseling program at Edison Local School District is designed to reach the entire student population by providing support for the academic, career, personal and social needs of each student.  We aspire to work together with our families to inspire exceptional student achievement.

Philosophy for adopting a career advising policy

Ohio law requires that all districts adopt a local policy for career advising. Beyond that, most experts contend that an integrated process that encompasses student's personal interests, academic achievement and core values with a career plan will prepare students for the future.

Implementation and evaluation of the policy

The policy will be reviewed at least once every two years. Additionally, this policy will be made available to parents/guardians, local businesses, school personnel, military, post-secondary institutions and district residents.
