Kindergarten Testing Appointment and Staggered Start Information

Kindergarten Parents,
We will be setting up individual appointments on August 31, September 1, and September 2 in order to complete required assessments for Kindergarten  This will also give us a chance to meet your child before the actual first day of school.  During this time you will meet with our school nurse to review any medical documentation.  You may also bring in your child's school supplies at this time.  Please be prompt to your appointment but don't arrive any earlier than five minutes before your scheduled time.  You and your child will be required to wear a face covering to the appointment and a temperature check of the child will be taken before they enter.  Parents will wait in a separate location and your child will be returned to you when we are finished.  The homeroom rosters have been posted on our website at www.edisonchargers.org.  Please go to the Edison Elementary page to view the rosters. Click on your child's teacher name below to sign up for your appointment.

Edison Elementary Reopening Plan

Now that the Edison Elementary Reopening Plan has been released and the Board of Education has decided how we will come back to school, I have some important Kindergarten information to release.  Please note that I have been holding off on releasing this information because of all the uncertainty that surrounded our return to school.  As always, things may still change due to Governor's orders or Ohio Department of Health mandates but we will move forward with what we know today and make adjustments if needed.

Edison Digital Academy Frequently Asked Questions

Can Edison High School students take AP and honors courses?
Digital students will select the digital versions of the same classes offered to Edison students who are attending in-person and remotely.
Each digital version of the class will be the equivalent of the in-person classes and meet the same requirements of honors diploma, GPA etc.

Can students take CCP classes digitally?
Edison CCP classes are arranged with a partner college. The three colleges currently partnering with Edison High School are Bowling Green, Findlay, and Kenyon College.  At this time, Edison Digital students would not be able to take CCP classes with Edison teachers. If the College/University offers the course as an all online course, Edison students would be able to enroll in the CCP course through that option.  This must be done through Edison with our counselors. Each CCP class would need to follow the requirements of the individual college sponsoring that specific CCP class.

A link to the settlement is below. To be clear, our District is not a defendant in this lawsuit and is not accused of any wrongdoing in this lawsuit. We are sharing this information as a courtesy to the Ohio Department of Education and our community.
