The Cross Country teams continued their successful season at the Norwalk Trucker Invitational. Claire Michaelis crossed the line as the individual champion, leading the girls to a team championship. Addison McDonnell and Penny Stoll also brought home hardware. On the boys' side, Mason Leber, Zeke Rutger, Liam Chase, and Caleb Jeremay all earned medals, leading the team to a second-place finish—just 2 points shy of the championship. Congratulations to Alice Watson, Zeke Rutger, Austin Jones, James Sebolt, Landon Capizzi, Franklin Clark, and Emmet Woodward for running personal records. The teams will be back in action this Saturday morning at Western Reserve.
Fellowship of Christian Students will meet on Tuesday, September 29, at 7 AM in the Innovation Center. We hope to see you there!
Thank you to everyone who helped kick off Homecoming Week at the TLC Color Run! You brought the energy, the color, and some points for your classes. Seniors earned 13 points toward their quarterly total, freshmen earned 9, and juniors and sophomores each earned 3. Keep it up—every point brings your class closer to the ice cream social at the end of the quarter! Congratulations to Landon Capizzi for winning the race and the candy prize! Our door prize winners are Penny Stoll, who won a free yearbook, and Landon Capizzi and Natalie Schook, who each won a free Homecoming dance ticket. As we move into October and the end of the quarter draws near, we are sending out a Do Right reminder. If you earned a card from Quarter 4, you have until October 23rd to cash it in! Not sure what your teachers offer? Look around their room; it is posted. You could also ask very nicely! Finish Quarter 1 strong, Chargers!!
Happy homecoming week! Remember to participate in the spirit days to be entered into a raffle for a $50 Chipotle gift card! Tomorrow is Rio Color Wars Day. Freshmen wear yellow, sophomores wear green, juniors wear red, and seniors wear blue! Join us on Wednesday night for the Homecoming parade, powder puff game, and bonfire! The parade kicks off at 7 pm!
Homecoming tickets will be for sale in the cafeteria during lunch all week. All tickets are $15. Tickets can also be purchased in the office from 7:20 a.m. to 7:40 am and 2:50 p.m. to 3:15 pm. If you are bringing a guest, the guest form needs to be completed when purchasing your ticket. No tickets will be sold at the door!
For those attending the homecoming dance, you must arrive by 8:30pm and stay until at least 9:30pm. If you plan to leave between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm, you must provide a parent note to the office before the end of the day Friday. See you at the dance!
The BGSU Firelands scholarship application opens to admitted students on Oct. 1 via student MyBGSU portals. All admitted students are eligible to submit the application for scholarships through February 26th.
