There is no school on Monday, Sept. 7 and Tuesday, September 8.

The weather report for today is mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and a high of 80.  That’s cooler than yesterday.

The seventh grade football team lost to Vermilion 16 to 0. Colton Petznick, Gagee Yamanouchi and Parker Smith all ran the ball well. Defensively Levi Wells had an interception and a nice return.The game was cut short at halftime. The Chargers play Huron at home on Thursday.

The Edison 8th grade football team defeated Vermilion  36-6 last night. Scoring touchdowns for the Chargers were Dom Shelley, Austin Quillen, Cooper Schaeffer, and Blake McKinnon. Brody Leto and Silas Watson also added nice catches. On defense, Grant Schnittker and Gabe Matter each recorded a sack, Gabe added a fumble recovery, and Blake McKinnon returned an interception for a touchdown.

If you are a 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student who is running for student council and you haven’t handed in ALL of your paperwork yet, make sure that you give it to Mrs. Bishop or drop it off at the main office by the end of the school day.    

The trivia answer is that Kelly Clarkson was the first winner on American Idol in 2002.
