Morning Announcements for Monday, August 31st

The varsity volleyball team went 2 and 1 on Saturday, finishing 2nd in Sandusky's Michelle Butler-Keegan Memorial Tournament.  The team beat Marion Harding and Elyria Open Door before falling to Maumee in the finals.  Macari Harris had 27 kills on the day, followed by Peyton Werner and Reese Wells with 17 kills each and Abby Cloud with 10 kills.  Peyton Bissell had 62 assists and 17 digs on the day.  Paisley Keefer had 21 digs and Megan Thompson added 18 digs to lead the defense.  Reese Wells served 20 points and had 7 aces.


The Chargers Cross Country teams started their seasons strong on Saturday at the Seneca East Tiger Classic. Claire Michaelis finished 3rd and Addison McDonnell finished 5th to lead the girls team to a runner-up finish. Penny Stoll, Madison Moon, Juliana Johnson and Aili Corfman also came home with hardware. Mason Leber finished 14th to lead the boys team to a 7th place finish. Lyla Palmer and James Sebolt both started the season with their Personal Records.  Both teams are back in action on September 12th, under the lights at the Seneca East Star, Stripes and Lights Invitational.  


This Wednesday, Drama Club will be holding their Fall Kickoff meeting during Charger Period and after school. Students interested in joining the troupe should plan on attending one of the meetings. If you are unable to attend either, please reach out to Miss Coon or Mr Stanforth.

Additionally, an audition workshop will be held right after school on Thursday, September 3rd for any students wanting to learn extra skills and tips for fall play auditions.

Attention Sources of Strength Peer Leaders! 

Our next Peer Leader meeting will be this Thursday during Charger Period in the Innovation Room. Come ready to have some fun, start planning our first campaign of the year, and hear about some exciting new opportunities for Peer Leaders!If you are interested in joining Sources of Strength but haven’t signed up yet, this is your last chance! Please see Mrs. Ruff before Thursday to get a permission slip and information about joining. Current Peer Leaders - don’t forget to turn in your permission slips!

Attention high school girls!  ROX is back at Edison! If you're interested in building confidence, strengthening friendships and relationships, learning self-defense, developing leadership skills, and connecting with other girls, ROX may be for you! Check your email for the ROX hype video and application from Mrs. Ruff. Applications are due Friday, September 11th! Space is limited, so don't wait!


Model UN Informational Meeting:

Are you interested in learning more about Model United Nations? Join us Wednesday, September 2nd, during Charger Period for a brief informational meeting. Come hear what Model UN is all about, what we do, and how you can get involved! Be sure to sign up on the Google Form no later than Tuesday, September 1st. 


Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in Powder Puff or cheerleading, there will be a meeting on Tuesday, September 1st in the library during Charger period. 


Wednesday, September 2nd, Drama Club will be holding an informational fall kickoff meeting during Charger period and after school to break down each part of the club, as well as sharing details about auditions for our fall play, This Murder was Staged. See you there! 


Attention returning and new students interested in joining Key Club this year.  Make sure you fill out a membership form and return it to Dr. Wenzel in the Main Office by September 7th with your $3 district dues.  If you were a member of Key Club last year, you still need to return a membership form again this year.  Key Club is a service organization that strives to improve the lives of children in the community and is sponsored by the Berlin Heights Kiwanis Club.
