The middle school cross country teams fought the heat this weekend in Seneca East to run their first race of the season. The girls took 4th place.
Earning medals, Jillian Chase led the team with a 10th place finish overall, Parker Towns came in at 14th, and Jessie Rockwell finished in 20th place. Natalie Salmons started the year only 7 seconds away from her best time from last year.
Liam Jones led the boys with Tristian Rogers close behind him. The boys finished 11th overall. Both teams ran well and will continue to get faster before our next race at Tiffin.
Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student who is running for student council needs to hand in their 2 letters of recommendation, the signed student/parent agreement form, and a copy of your speech by Thursday, Sept. 3 to Mrs. Bishop or the main office. There is still time to run just get an application packet.
The trivia answer is that sumo wrestling is the national sport in Japan.
