Edison Local Schools is currently seeking an eight (8) hour-per-day Custodian/Maintenance employee to join our team starting October 10th!

Position Highlights:
- Eight (8) hours per day (Monday through Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm)

Responsibilities Include:
- Cleaning and maintaining classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, libraries, and other school areas
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, stripping, and waxing floors
- Cleaning windows, fixtures, walls, furniture, lockers, and other surfaces
- Emptying trash and maintaining clean and sanitary facilities
- Performing routine general building maintenance and minor repairs
- Monitoring heating and ventilation equipment and reporting concerns or malfunctions
- Checking and securing buildings, exterior doors, and other areas to help maintain a safe and secure school environment
- Setting up and rearranging furniture and equipment for meetings, events, and school activities
- Moving and delivering equipment, supplies, books, furniture, and other materials
- Assisting with lawn care, athletic field maintenance, snow removal, and other seasonal groundskeeping responsibilities
- Maintaining appropriate equipment check sheets and other required records
- Performing other custodial and maintenance duties as assigned
We are looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Applicants should be able to follow written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively with students and staff, and safely operate custodial and maintenance equipment.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in public building custodial work is preferred.
This position also requires the ability to perform the physical responsibilities associated with custodial and maintenance work, including regularly standing and walking; bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders; operating lawn, snow-removal, and custodial equipment; and frequently lifting or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting or moving of equipment and furniture.
