Varsity Boys Basketball vs. Willard (Sectional Tournament)

The Boys Varsity Basketball season ended last night with a loss to Willard. Dylan O'Dell scored 10 points, Lincoln Meredith and Grant Ott added 8 points, Luke Bissell added 6 points, and Jalen Kegarise and Andrew Neate each added a 3 pointer. We would like to thank the seniors for their 4 years to the program, the cheerleaders, parents, and fans for their support, and everyone from the administration, the ticket takers, to the announcers, to the scorekeepers that made this season possible.

Varsity Boys Basketball vs. New London

The boys varsity basketball team won their final regular season game at New London Saturday night. The boys were led in scoring by Lincoln Meredith who scored 17 points, Dylan O'Dell scored 15 points, Clay Byington chipped in 11 points, Grant Ott scored 10 points all in Overtime, and Troy Rutherford and Luke Bissell each chipped in 5 points. The boys will start tournament play this week at Willard Wednesday night.

The boys varsity basketball team lost to Firelands last night after a great effort. The boys were led in scoring by four seniors in their last game in the Thunderdome. Lincoln Meredith scored 16 points, Dylan O'Dell scored 13 points, Grant Ott scored 12 points, and Luke Bissell added 10 points. The boys return to action tomorrow at Huron and Saturday at New London.

The boys varsity basketball team dropped two more over the weekend to Port Clinton and Huron. The boys were led in scoring Friday by Luke Bissell who scored 12 points, Clay Byington who scored 11 points, and Jalen Kegarise chipped in 6 points on senior night. Saturday the boys were led in scoring by Dylan O'Dell, who scored 11 points, and Luke Bissell who scored 9 points. The seniors will play their final game in the Thunder Dome tonight against Firelands.

The boys varsity basketball team dropped two this past weekend at Willard and at South Central. The boys were led in scoring on Friday by Grant Ott, who scored 8 points in limited minutes. Saturday, the boys played well with a balanced offensive attack but ultimately fell short. The boys return to action this Wednesday v. Keystone, Friday v. Port Clinton for Senior Night, and Saturday v. Huron.

The boys varsity basketball team lost on the road last night to the Clyde Fliers. The boys were led in scoring by Lincoln Meredith who scored 10 points, Brady Barker and Keegan Smith both chipped in 6 points, and Jack Brown added 2 more points. The boys return to action this Monday vs. SBC rival Huron.

The boys return to action this week at Bellevue tonight, at Vermilion tomorrow, and at Clyde on Thursday.

The boys varsity basketball lost a tough one last night to Danbury 64-61 as a last second 3 point shot fell just short at the buzzer to tie it. The boys were led by Dylan O'Dell who scored 18 points, Lincoln Meredith who scored 17 points, Luke Bissell who scored 11 points, and Clay Byington who added 9 points. The boys will return to action this Friday when they host Oak Harbor.

December Athlete of the Month - Lincoln Meredith

The Athletic Department would like to congratulate the following student-athletes for being nominated by their coaches as athlete of the month for December.  Aliyah Caporini- Aliyah Averaged 17.5 ppg, 9 rebs, 6 steals, and 3 assists over a six-game stretch in December. She had 19 points, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds against Margaretta and a huge 29 points, 13 rebounds, 5 steal performance in an overtime win at Oak Harbor.   Lincoln Meredith-  Lincoln scored 22 points against Norwalk St. Paul and has had a great start to his senior season.  Please stop into the athletic office to receive your award.

The boys' varsity basketball season came to an end last night against Norwalk in the Sectional Semi-Finals. The boys were led in scoring by Grant Ott, who scored 9, Drew Sneider, and Dylan O'Dell who both chipped in 6 points. Patrick McManus led the team in rebounds, as well. The coaching staff would like to thank our 3 Seniors for their dedication and time in the program, also the administration, teachers, cheerleaders, students, and parents who supported the team this season. The boys' varsity basketball team lost two games this weekend to Huron and Oak Harbor. The boys were led by Dylan O'Dell, who contributed 14 points over the weekend. On Senior Night, Seth Thompson added 6 points, Drew Sneider had 5 points, and Connor Romell added 4 points. The team would like to thank the student section that came out for Senior Night, and all season long. The post season starts by taking on Norwalk at 6:15 p.m. this Tuesday at Willard High School. The JV boys finished their season this past weekend with games against Huron and Oak Harbor.  Both games were played extremely tight with the Chargers putting forth great team efforts both nights but coming up short.  The Chargers finish their season 7 and 15. More +

The boys varsity basketball team lost twice this weekend against Port Clinton and Western Reserve. The boys were paced in scoring by Dylan O'Dell, who 26 points combined, Grant Ott, who scored 13 points Saturday, and Lincoln Meredith who added 9 points collectively. The boys return to action this Friday when we host rival Huron, which will be Senior Night for our 3 seniors. JV Boys Basketball vs. Willard/South Central

The JV Boys basketball team had a two game weekend this weekend.  Friday Night the Chargers started hot but fizzled out and lost a close game to Willard 49-39.  Clay Byington led with 10 points.  On Saturday the Chargers competed against South Central and kept control for most of the game until SC got hot and the Chargers couldn't quite make the comeback they needed losing by 6 points.  Keegan Smith and Clay Byington each led the Chargers with 9 points a piece.  The Chargers will face Port Clinton this Friday on the road.  Go Chargers! Varsity/JV Boys Basketball vs. Clyde

The boys varsity basketball team lost last night to Clyde 50 to 43. The fourth quarter comeback came up short, but the boys showed a lot of fight getting back in it. The boys were led by Grant Ott, who scored 9 points, Connor Romell who chipped in 6, and Patrick McManus added 5 points. The boys will return to action this Saturday at Firelands.  The JV boys dug themselves in a deep hole early and although they fought back hard, they were unable to surface against the Fliers losing 54-37.  Clay Byington led the Chargers with 16 and Jalen Kegarise added 6.  JV boys play tomorrow at Firelands. This past weekend the boys varsity basketball team could not overcome a tough shooting night this past Friday and came up short against Margaretta. The team battled, and played well defensively throughout the game but could not get enough baskets to drop. The boys had 8 players in the scoring column, with Grant Ott, Drew Sneider, Patrick Ambury each adding 5 points, and Seth Thompson and Patrick McManus each chipping in 4 points. This past Friday night, the Chargers hosted conference rival Margaretta.  After one of their best games played as a team the JV boys won 49-39 in a redemption game.  Brady Barker led all scores with 19 points while Jalen Kegarise and Clay Byington each had 12.  The Chargers are back in action on Thursday, home against Clyde. The boys varsity basketball team lost a tough game last night to Tiffin Calvert at home 54-51. The boys were led in scoring by Drew Sneider, who scored 14 points, Patrick Amburgy, who added 11 points, and Connor Romell who chipped in 9 points. The boys had 10 players score, and contribute last night in a great team effort. We are proud of all their efforts last night, and we have another opportunity to bounce back against SBC Bay Rival Margaretta here at the Thunderdome this Friday. More +

JV Boys Basketball vs. Oak Harbor

Friday night the JV Boys Basketball team hosted Oak Harbor in a conference matchup.  After a very exciting 5 quarters the Chargers came out victorious in overtime by 1 point.  Clay Byington led all scores with 17 as Brady Barker followed with 8 including two 3s in overtime to help push the Chargers past the Rockets.  Boys Basketball plays Tiffin Calvert at home tomorrow night, JV tip off at 6:00 pm More +

Varsity Boys Basketball - Winter Break

The boys varsity basketball dropped three games over winter break to Norwalk St. Paul, Willard, and Port Clinton. The boys were led this past Saturday by Grant Ott, who chipped in 11 points, and Dylan O'Dell, who contributed 7 points against PC. The boys are going to work to shake off their winter break shooting woes, and bounce back this Friday at our SBC rival Huron. More +

JV Boys Basketball vs. Port Clinton

This past weekend the Boys basketball teams hosted the Port Clinton Redskins.  The JV boys were able to use good defense and balanced scoring to defeat the Redskins 35-24.  Clay Byington lead all scores with 13 while Brady Barker had 10.  This improved the JV record to 5-3.  The Chargers have a double weekend ahead on the road against Huron and Vermilion.  Go Chargers! Varsity/JV Boys Basketball vs. Woodmore

The boys varsity basketball team won a close game with Woodmore last night with a score of 66 to 62. The boys were led by Connor Romell, who scored 19 points including a free throw to put us up 4 with time winding down. Grant Ott, chipped in 18 point, Dylan O'Dell scored 9 points, Seth Thompson and Patrick Amburgy both added 7 points apiece. The boys are back in action Saturday at Norwalk St. Paul.

Last night the JV boys basketball team traveled to Woodmore.  Even though it was a tough night shooting the basketball, the boys managed to eke out a win 31-30.  Clay Byington led all scorers with 13 points.  The boys play again this Saturday at St. Paul.

Varsity Basketball vs. Margaretta/Bellevue

The boys varsity basketball team had two hard fought 1-loss games this weekend. The Chargers lost their first game of the season at Margaretta after a thrilling 11 point rally brought us back to a tied game with less than a minute remaining. Saturday, the boys shook off the tough loss, and played well at home against Bellevue only to come up one point shy of a victory again. In both games, the boys played well and competed until the end. Thank you to the students and faculty that came out to support us this past weekend.  The boys will look to bounce back this Wednesday night at Woodmore and Saturday night at Norwalk St. Paul. The Freshman boys basketball team improved their record to 2-0 with a 46-40 victory over Danbury last night.  Max Hoover and Troy Rutherford led the Chargers in scoring with 12 points each, Jack Brown tallied 11 points while Dominic Dymond contributed with 9 points and Kade Garn pitched in with 2.  The boys next game is at Margaretta Friday. The Freshman boys basketball team defeated New London Friday night in their home opener by a score of 39-24.  Troy Rutherford led all scorers with 17 points, Jack Brown scored 10 while Dominic Dymond tossed in 8 and Brock Tice contributed with 4 points.  The Freshman boys next game is against Danbury on December 11th at 5:30. The boys varsity basketball team started out their season this past weekend by defeating New London and Danbury to improve to 2 and 0. The boys were led in scoring by Patrick Ambury, who scored 23 and 19 over the weekend. Dylan O'Dell added 8 and 11 points. Drew Sneider scored 15 points and Connor Romell added 11 points on Saturday. JV Boys Basketball vs. New London/Danbury

On opening weekend the JV boys basketball team had a successful run as they played New London and Danbury on Friday and Saturday nights. The Chargers handled the New London Wildcats with ease winning 38-15.  A balanced scoring attack made it difficult to be stopped.  Noah Smith led all scorers with 9 followed by Clay Byington with 8.  On Saturday the Chargers took on a very chaotic Danbury Lakers team but won 56-29. Noah Smith and Cameron Smith led the Chargers with 13 points a piece followed by Troy Rutherford's 10 points.  The Chargers are back in action next Friday on the road against Margaretta! More +

The boys varsity basketball team lost to Oak Harbor this past Friday on Senior Night. The boys played well, and were led by Seniors Carson Ehrhardt, Larry Kessler, and Caleb Bissell as they did all season. Lincoln Meredith chipped in 3 three pointers, as well. Varsity/Freshmen Boys Basketball vs. Vermilion

The boys varsity basketball team lost a tough game at Vermilion over the weekend. The boys were paced by Larry Kessler and Carson Ehrhardt, who scored 14 and 12 points. The boys return to action tomorrow night at Tiffin Calvert and Friday night at home v. Bellevue. 

Friday night the boys basketball teams traveled to Vermilion to take on the Sailors.  The freshman boys played a well hard fought game but came up short in a heart breaker as they lost 31-30.  Noah Smith and Clay Byington each led the Chargers with 8 points each while Brady Barker and Gabe Rang added 6 points each.  The Chargers play tomorrow night on the road at Tiffin Calvert.  Game starts at 4:30.

Freshmen Boys Basketball vs. Margaretta

Freshman Boys Basketball hosted Margaretta on Tuesday.  The Chargers jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the first couple quarters and managed to hold on with a 37-28 victory after being beat by 30 earlier in the year.  Clay Byington lead all scores with 14 points, Jacob Robinson chipped in 7, and Brady Barker added 6.  The team shot 10 for 11 from the free throw line.  The Chargers face Vermilion tonight at Vermilion. The boys varsity basketball team defeated Port Clinton last Thursday 73-57. Leading the team in scoring was Larry Kessler, who scored 17, Carson Ehrhardt had 15, Patrick Amburgy had 12, Caleb Bissell had 11, and Dylan O'Dell scored 10 points. The boys lost in action at Willard this past Saturday, and were led again by Larry Kessler, who scored 18 points and Carson Ehrhardt who scored 13 points. Last night the freshman boys basketball team hosted the Port Clinton Redskins in a conference matchup.  The freshman played a solid game and manufactured a 41-25 victory.  Keegan Smith lead the Chargers with 8 points, Clay Byington added 7, Garrett McQuillen tallied 6, Brady Barker, Noah Smith, and Gabe Rang added 4.  The boys are back in action tomorrow at Willard! The boys varsity basketball team lost two hard fought games over the weekend against Vermilion and a well-coached St. Mary's team. The boys were led in scoring by Larry Kessler, who had 13 in both games. Caleb Bissell scored 6 Friday, Patrick Amburgy had 7 Saturday, and Andrew Neate scored 5 Saturday. The JV boys basketball team lost to Vermilion Friday 49-38.  Luke Bissell lead Edison in scoring with 13 points while Andrew Neate scored 8.  Saturday the JV team lost to St Mary's 43-32, Lincoln Meredith was the high scorer for the Chargers with 7.  The boys are back in action Saturday against St Paul. Freshmen Boys Basketball vs. Vermilion/St. Mary's

On Friday night the freshman basketball team took on Vermilion at home.  After a hard fought first half battle the Chargers were down one at the break.  A scoreless 3rd quarter made the difference in the Chargers being defeated 36-24.  Clay Byington led the Chargers with 9 points. On Saturday night the boys hosted St. Mary's in a non-conference matchup.  The Chargers physicality was the difference maker as they dominated inside the paint and won 35-19.  Keegan Smith lead all scores with 10 points while Clay Byington added 8 and Brady Barker and Noah Smith had 6 each.  The freshman play at home on Wednesday night against Western Reserve starting at 5:30 More +

The boys JV basketball team took the Perkins Pirates into overtime on Tuesday night but came up short by a score of 37-34.  Grant Ott was the game high scorer with 12 points while Lincoln Meredith tossed in 7 points.  Luke Bissell contributed with 6 points while Andrew Neate pitched in with 5.  The boys next game is Friday at Margaretta.
