Varsity Girls Soccer vs. Clear Fork

The Lady Chargers lost 63-37 to Clear Fork in the sectional semi-final.  Leading scorers for the Chargers were Jorga Byington with 14 points, Iszie Sanabria with 7 points, Kalli Quillen with 4 points, Jill McDonnell with 3 points, Elena McCord with 3 points.  Ivy Kluding, Natalie Leimeister, and Payton Taylor each had 2 points.

Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. Port Clinton

The Lady Chargers fought hard last night on senior night but lost to Port Clinton by a score of 49-41. Leading the way for the Chargers was Jillian McDonnell, who had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Ivy Kluding had 9 points, Taylor Moore 7 points, Audrey Linder 4 points, Kalli Quillen and Elena McCord both scored 3 points, and Natalia Leimeister and Jorja Byington scored 2 points. The Lady Chargers finish the regular season with a 7-15 record and will play Clear Fork in the Sectional Semi-Finals on Wednesday.  The JV Lady Chargers won 41-33.

Varsity Girls Basketball vs. St. Paul; JV Girls Basketball vs. Vermilion

The Lady Chargers won 66-42 against St. Paul.  Leading scorers for the Chargers were Jorja Byington and Iszie Sanabria, both with 12,  Kalli Quillen with 11, Ivy Kluding and Payton Taylor with 10, Natalie Lemeister with 6, Audrey Linder with 3, and Taylor Moore with 2.  The Lady Chargers will be back in action Saturday at Willard.   The JV girls won against Vermilion  53-28.  Gracie Rang scored 18 points.

The Lady Chargers lost to Norwalk 56-27 Tuesday night, bringing their record to 6-12 on the season. Leading the way for the Chargers was Ivy Kluding with 5 points. Kalli Quillen, Jillian McDonnell, and Peyton Taylor each had 4 points, and Taylor Moore and Stella Brown each scored 3 points. The Lady Chargers are back in action tonight at Margaretta for a Bay Division matchup.

The Lady Chargers moved to 6-11 over the weekend with a 44-35 victory over the Oak Harbor Lady Rockets. Leading the way for the chargers was Jillian McDonnell with 11 points, Iszie Sanabria with 8 points, Kalli Quillen 6 points, Ivy Kluding 6 points, Peyton Taylor 6 points, Natalie Leimeister 5 points, and Taylor Moore with 2 points. The Lady Chargers JV squad scored a 44-32 comeback win to move to 9-9 on the season. 
The Lady Chargers are back in action tomorrow night at the ThunderDome against the Norwalk Truckers.

Ivy Kluding and Kalli Quillen each scored 10 points, and Izzie Sanabria scored 6 points and pulled in 9 rebounds. The Lady Chargers are now 1-3 on the season and travel to Eastwood tonight.

The Lady Chargers were defeated 62-33 at Bellevue on Friday. Jillian McDonnell scored 11, Jorja Byington scored 7 with 9 rebounds , and Kalli Quillen added 6 points.   On Saturday, the Lady Chargers took on New London at home and lost 36-37. Ivy Kluding lead the team in scoring with 14 points, followed by Kalli Quillen with 7, and Jorja Byington with 6 points.   The Lady Chargers are back in action tomorrow night at home against Keystone. The Lady Chargers moved to 7-14 on Saturday with a huge divisional win 69-67 vs. Willard on Senior Night. Jorja Byington led the way with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Lindsay Roberts had a big Senior Day by finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Kallie Quillen scored 13 points, including the game-winning layup at the buzzer. Rounding out the rest of the scoring was Audrey Linder with 7, Izzie Sanabria with 6, Ivy Kluding with 6, and Jillian McDonnell with 2 points. We will be back in action on Thursday night at Port Clinton for our last regular-season game. The JV Lady Chargers also beat Willard Saturday.

Last night the Lady Chargers traveled to Firelands for a non-conference matchup. We came up short, losing 52-41. Lindsay Roberts led the way with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Kalli Quillen scored 13, Izzy Sanabria 9, Jorja Byington 3, and Natalie Leimeister scored 2 points. In the JV game, the Lady Chargers beat Firelands 38-20 behind 14 points from Natalie Leimeister. Also scoring for the Chargers were Mallory Meister and Elena McCord with 5 points each, Avery Rutherford and Taylor Geiger with 4 points each, and Haley Chaput, Maylie Weilnau, and Ingrid Berckmueller each scored 2 points.

The Lady Chargers came out on top last night against St. Joseph Central Catholic 57-48, moving to 3-5 on the season. Kalli Quillen led the Chargers in scoring with 20 points, Izzie Sanabria and Jorja Byington had 9 points each,  Lindsay Roberts had 8 points, Ivy Kluding with 6, Jillian McDonnell with 3, and Audrey Linder with 2 points. The JV Lady Chargers also won 30-28. December Athlete of the Month - Aliyah Caporini

The Athletic Department would like to congratulate the following student-athletes for being nominated by their coaches as athlete of the month for December.  Aliyah Caporini- Aliyah Averaged 17.5 ppg, 9 rebs, 6 steals, and 3 assists over a six-game stretch in December. She had 19 points, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds against Margaretta and a huge 29 points, 13 rebounds, 5 steal performance in an overtime win at Oak Harbor.   Lincoln Meredith-  Lincoln scored 22 points against Norwalk St. Paul and has had a great start to his senior season.  Please stop into the athletic office to receive your award.

The JV Lady Chargers got back on the winning track at St. Paul with a score of 47 to 14.  It was a complete team effort and many girls reached the scoring column.  Natalie Leimeister played a great game and ended with 8 points. Lydia Woodyard, Kinsley Rahrig, and Kennedy Keefer also had 8 points apiece, followed by Lindsay Sneider with 7, Ava Grant had 6, and Izzy Sanabria with 4.  Elena McCord's intense defense led to 5 steals and Jamie Teed added 3 steals as well.  This win improves the team's record to 12-6 with 2 more games remaining in the season. Finish strong girls!

JV Girls Basketball vs. Port Clinton

The JV Lady Chargers used an aggressive 2nd half defense and strong rebounding to beat Port Clinton, 36 to 19.  The team held just a single point lead at half, 18 to 17.  They came out after the break to only allow 2 points for the Lady Redskins in the entire 2nd half.  Izzie Sanabria led the team with 12 points.  Lydia Woodyard achieved a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Kinsley Rahrig also added 9 boards.  Lindsey Sneider tallied 8 points.   The JV girls' next game will be Saturday where they will host Oak Harbor.   Good luck girls! The JV Lady Chargers got their 9th win of the season on Saturday against the Huron Tigers, 45 to 35.  Lindsay Sneider led the team in scoring with 13 points, followed by Kinsley Rahrig with 11.  Kallie Quillen and Izzie Sanabria added 7 apiece, while Lydia Woodyard chipped in 6 points.  This win improves their record to 9-4 on the season.  The next game for the JV team is Wednesday, January 15th where they will travel to Port Clinton.  Good luck ladies!   More +

Deana Blatnik scored 8, Lindsay Roberts with 6 and Olivia Vitaz scored 4 points. They will travel to Willard on Friday for a big divisional matchup.
The JV also improved to 6-1 on the season with a win over St. Joe, 28 to 19.  Lydia Woodyard finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds, while Ava Grant added 6 points.

On Saturday the junior varsity Lady Chargers suffered their first loss of the season to the lady Bears of Margaretta, 37 to 25.  It was a hard fought game from start to finish. Leading the team was Kalli Quillen with 7 points. Lydia Woodyard and Kinsley Rahrig each chipped in 5 points as well. Woodyard was a beast on the boards finishing with 12 rebounds. Next game for the ladies is Tuesday where they travel to Fremont St. Joe.

Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. TIffin Calvert

The Lady Chargers moved to 5-0 as they defeated Calvert last night 50-26. Scoring was lead by Aliyah Caporini and Kennedy Keefer, both with 12 points. Followed by Lindsay Roberts with 8 points, Olivia Vitaz, Danielle Blatnik and Jayla Medina each scored 4 points. The JV Lady Chargers improved to 5-0 on the season with a win over the Calvert Senecas, 36 to 33.  Ava Grant and Kinsley Rahrig led in points with 10 apiece, followed by Izzy Sanabria with 8.  The girls' next game is Saturday where they will travel to Margaretta. The Lady Chargers Basketball team won a hard fought SBC Bay Division matchup vs. Oak Harbor 49-43. Lindsay Roberts led the way with 14 points. Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. Vermilion

Last night the Lady Chargers won a hard-fought SBC crossover game against Vermilion. Aliyah Caporini led the Chargers with 21 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Kennedy Keefer who scored 8 and brought down 8 rebounds. Jayla Medina had 7 and Deana Blatnik had 5 points. The Lady Chargers open up Bay Division play Saturday at Oak Harbor. The JV game begins at 11:00 am with the Varsity to follow.  Jv’s won 38-33, Isabella Sanabria had 10 points to lead them in scoring. More +

The Lady Chargers defeated Keystone 57-30 Last Saturday. Leading scorers were Kennedy Keefer with 15 points and 12 rebounds, Aliyah Caporini with 14 points, and Jayla Medina with 11 points. The Lady Chargers will be back in action tomorrow night at home against Vermilion. More +

Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. New London

The Lady Chargers defeated the New London Wildcats 42-19 on Saturday night. Aliyah Caporini led the way with a double-double (22 points, 11 rebounds) and Lindsay Roberts with 7 points. 

The JV Lady Chargers opened up their season with a big win at New London on Saturday, 45 to 16.  It was a team effort on both sides of the floor, with many Chargers getting into the scoring column.  Kennedy Keefer led the team in scoring with 12 points, followed by Ava Grant and Kalli Quillen with 7 apiece.  Izzy Sanabria chipped in 6 as well.  The Lady Chargers' next game is tonight where they will travel to Keystone.  Good luck ladies!

The varsity girls basketball team suffered a tough loss in overtime to Seneca East last night 36 to 32 in a district semi-final game that ended their season. Alana Fidler paced the attack with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Aliyah Caporini added 9 points. Molly Houser and Hannah Vitaz rounded out the scoring with 6 and 5 points respectively. The Lady Charger coaching staff would like to thank the 6 seniors for their commitment and drive that they have given to the basketball program over the last several years. Varsity Girls Basketball vs. Crestview (Sectional Championship)

The varsity girls basketball team defeated Ashland Crestview Saturday night 41 to 39 to earn a sectional championship. Hannah Vitaz paced the attack with 14 points and 7 rebounds, while Molly Houser and Aliyah Caporini added 8 points each. Alana Fidler contributed 5 points and hauled down a team high 10 rebounds. Also, Jessica Stoll tallied 4 points and 4 boards and Mariah Medina added 2 points and 3 steals. With the victory the Lady Charger basketball team tied the school record for most wins in a season with 19. Congratulations!!! The varsity girls basketball team used a 23 point third quarter to pull away from Monroeville and record a 63 to 36 victory in sectional tournament action last night. Four players reached double figures and a 5th player added 9 points as the team utilized a balanced attack to advance. The varsity girls basketball team improved their record to 13-4 overall by defeating Norwalk 63 to 33. Four Lady Chargers reached double digits in the balanced scoring attack and they were: Aliyah Caporini 15 points; Mariah Medina and Hannah Vitaz 14 points each; and Alana Fidler with 11 points. The varsity girls basketball team defeated Huron last Saturday 46 to 27. Alana  Fidler paced the attack with 12 points and 5 rebounds, while Aliyah Caporini added 10 points. Hannah Vitaz chipped in 7 points and 5 rebounds, while Jessica Stoll also hauled down 5 rebounds.

The junior varsity girls defeated Huron 47 to 12. Danielle Blatnik and Jayla Media led the attack with 8 points each, while Leigh Anne Lambert and Olivia Vitaz tossed in 6 points each. Eliza Brickner and Lauren Neher also contributed 5 points each.

Freshmen Girls Basketball vs. Lorain

The freshmen girls basketball team came from behind to defeat Lorain last night 37 to 33. Lindsay Roberts paced the attack with 8 points, while Madison Chaput and Lydia Woodyard contributed 6 points each. Eliza Brickner added 5 points and Olivia Vitaz and Leigh Anne Lambert rounded out the scoring with 4 and 2 points respectively.
