Varsity Football vs. Firelands
The Varsity football team kicked off the season with a tremendous victory on the road against the Firelands Falcons by a final score of 28 - 7. The offense rushed for 257 yards behind a new look offensive line as they consistently created holes for the running backs to get through. The offense was led by Marcus Medina who ran for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns and threw for 113 yards and 1 score. Sophomores Luke Blatnik and Davin Wendt also scored touchdowns. After allowing a score on the opening drive of the game, the defense shut the Falcons out for the remaining 3 quarters. The defense created 3 turnovers, including 2 interceptions by Cy Finnen, and showed great toughness as they battled against a much larger offensive line. The team travels to Elmwood this Friday to take on the Royals.

Varsity Football vs. Bellevue
The Charger Football team made history last Friday night as they beat the #1 seed Bellevue Redmen by a score of 23-22. With the win the Chargers became the first team in state history to defeat a #1 seed as a #16 seed. The Chargers are back in action this Friday as they travel to Perkins to take on the Pirates!

Varsity Football - Toledo National Football Foundation Scholar-Athletes
Congratulations to Andrew Neate and Grant Ott for being chosen as Toledo National Football Foundation Scholar-Athletes. This honor is based on not only their achievements on the Football field this past fall but for the academic, leadership, and citizenship qualities they have demonstrated. They will be recognized at a virtual banquet show which will be aired on BCSN on Monday, March 15th.

JV Football vs. Vermilion
On Saturday, the JV Football Team beat Vermilion to continue their winning streak. The Chargers defense did not allow the Sailors to score. The team is now 5-0 on the year. They look to keep their win streak alive this Saturday at home versus Huron.

JV Football vs. Oak Harbor
On Saturday, the JV football team beat the Oak Harbor Rockets to go 4-0 on the year. Scoring touchdowns for the Chargers were Trayvon Williams and Troy Rutherford. The defense held strong, only allowing 6 points. The team looks to extend its win streak at Vermilion this Saturday.

Varsity Football vs. Huron
The Charger football team would like to thank everyone for their support this season and especially on last Friday night as the Team beat rival Huron by a score of 41-20 to secure a berth in the State Play-Offs. The team will travel to Shelby this Saturday night to take on the Whippets at 7:00 in the opening round of the state play-offs.
