Varsity Wrestling - State Runner-Up

The Charger Wrestling Team capped off another amazing season with a state runner-up finish at state tournament. Marcus Medina finished in 5th place at 144 lbs, Kohen Horvath placed 3rd at 150 lbs, and Max and Abe Hermes brought home state championships at 113 lbs and 120 lbs.  Max Hermes becomes the school's first 3x state champion and finishes his career with a 223-12 record at Edison High School. Great job to all four boys as they represented our school and community well in Columbus.

Congratulations to Abe Hermes, Max Hermes, Marcus Medina, and Kohen Horvath for qualifying for this weekend's Ohio State Wrestling Tournament.  The boys will compete Friday at 1:00 in Columbus.  Good luck boys!

Varsity Wrestling - Sectionals

The Edison Wrestling team qualified six individuals for this weekend's district tournament in Rossford.  Winning sectional championships were Xander Gfell-King, Abe Hermes, Max Hermes, and Kohen Horvath.  Marcus Medina and Duke Hermes finished as sectional runner-up in their respective weight class.  The top four finishers at each weight class this weekend will qualify for the state tournament . Varsity Wrestling - SBC Tournament

The Charger Wrestling Team had a very successful SBC Tournament this past weekend. Winning individual championships were Abe Hermes at 113 lbs, Max Hermes at 126 lbs, and Kohen Horvath at 150 lbs.  Marcus Medina finished as runner-up at 144 lbs.  Rounding out the scoring were Quentin Cox who was 7th at 120 lbs and Kyler Jones who was 8th at 106 lbs.  Max Hermes was named Most Valuable Wrestler in the conference as he became only the 15th wrestler in the 60 year history of the SBC to win 4 SBC titles.  Great job Max!  The team will be back in action this Saturday as they compete in Plymouth at the sectional tournament.

Varsity Wrestling - Division III Duals

The Charger Wrestling Team had a successful weekend at the D3 Duals at St. Mary's High School.  Going undefeated on the weekend were Abe Hermes, Max Hermes, Duke Hermes, Marcus Medina, and Kohen Horvath.  HIghlights of the weekend were Marcus Medina beating the #1 and #4 ranked wrestlers in the state.  Kohen Horvath downed the #3 ranked wrestler in the state.  Max Hermes became only the 24th wrestler in Ohio High School history to record 200 career wins.  Congratulations Max!   The Chargers will return to action next weekend at the Rossford and Margaretta Invites.

Varsity Wrestling - Mini-Tournament

The Edison Wrestling Team competed well last night in front of a large crowd in the Thunderdome.  Going 2-0 for the Chargers were Max Hermes, Marcus Medina, Kohen Horvath, Josh Thompson, Gavin Leto, and Quentin Cox.  Finishing 1-1 were Kyler Jones and Braeden Klima.  The highlight match of the night featured two returning state champions in Max Hermes vs. Casper Caizzo.  Max controlled the entire match en route to a 5-0 win.The Chargers will be back in action tomorrow at the Ashland Crestview JV Tournament.  The varsity will be in action next Friday and Saturday at the Division III Duals at St. Marys.

Varsity Wrestling - Edison Invitational Tournament

The Charger Wrestling Team finished in 4th place at the Edison Invitational this past Saturday.  Taking home championships were Max Hermes, Marcus Medina, and Kohen Horvath.  Abe Hermes and Xander Gfell-King took 2nd place.  Quentin Cox rounded out the scoring by taking 6th place.  Max Hermes was voted as the Most Valuable Wrestler of the tournament.

Varsity Wrestling - State Runner-Up

The Charger Wrestling Team capped off another amazing season by finishing second in the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament this past weekend.  Max Hermes won his second state championship with a pin in 1:24 in the state finals.  Max improves to 170-9 in his career and is currently ranked 18th in the country at his weight.  Logan Lloyd finished 2nd at 190 lbs.  Abe Hermes was 4th at 106 lbs.  Rounding out the scoring were Jacob Thompson in 5th and Remington Bauer in 6th.  Great season boys!

Varsity Wrestling - District Champions

The Charger Wrestling Team advanced six wrestlers to this weekend's state tournament and also brought home their third consecutive district title.  Winning district championships were Max Hermes and Logan Lloyd.  Jacob Thompson and Remington Bauer finished as district runner-up.  Abe Hermes took 3rd place and Jackson Berardi finished in 4th.  Good luck this weekend at state!

Varsity Wrestling - Division III Duals Runner-Up

The Chargers ended their dual meet season this past weekend by finishing as State Runner-Up in Division III.  The Chargers down Ravenna Southeast 53-27 in Round 1.  They then pulled off an exciting win against Versailles in the semifinals 37-34.  In the finals the Chargers lost a heartbreaker 38-36 to top seeded South Range.  Going 3-0 on the weekend were Abe Hermes, Max Hermes, Duke Hermes, Remington Bauer, and Logan Lloyd.  The Charger seniors cap their dual meet career by finishing an astounding 123-15 with four consecutive trips to the State Finals.  The team will be back in action this Saturday at Norwalk as they try to win their sixth straight SBC title.  Good luck boys!"

Varsity Wrestling vs. Clyde/Perkins

The Charger Wrestling Team ran their dual meet record to 25-5 by going 2-0 on Wednesday night defeating Clyde 62-15 and Perkins 39-28. Going 2-0 on the night were Max Hermes, Quentin Cox, Walker Cisco, Logan Lloyd, Jacob Thompson, and Jackson Berardi.  The Chargers will travel to Versailles High School on Saturday for the State Dual Finals as they open with Ravenna Southeast at 12:30 PM. Regional Duals vs. Delta

The Charger Wrestling Team won in dramatic fashion last night in the Thunderdome 34-33 over Delta to advance to the State Dual Finals on Saturday in Versailles.  The Chargers trailed 27-6 before mounting an unbelievable comeback.  Winning for the Chargers were Max Hermes, Duke Hermes, Walker Cisco, Remington Bauer, Logan Lloyd, Tony Pendergrass, and Jacob Thompson.  The Chargers will be back in action tomorrow at home against Perkins, Clyde, and Oak Harbor.

Varsity Wrestling - Division III Duals Champions

The Charger Wrestling Team had another successful weekend by winning the Division III Duals at St. Mary's High School.  Going 8-0 on the weekend were Abe Hermes, Max Hermes, Remington Bauer, Logan Lloyd, and Jacob Thompson.  Duke Hermes and Jackson Berardi went 7-1.  The big win on the weekend came from Ricky Miller as he recorded a pin in the finals after trailing 7-1 which gave the Chargers the points they needed to secure the championship.  A special congratulation to Max Hermes for earning his 150th career win in just his junior season.  Max is now 150-9 in his career.  The Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday night for the State Dual regional finals at Edison High School.  Wrestling starts at 5:00.  Please come out and support the team.

Varsity Wrestling vs. Mohawk/Avon Lake

The Charger Wrestling Team won two more duals on Wednesday night by defeating Mohawk 53-9 and Avon Lake 49-24. Going 2-0 on the night were Aaron Febbo, Abe Hermes, Max Hermes, Walker Cisco, Remington Bauer, Logan Lloyd, Clint Finnen, and Jackson Berardi. Jackson Berardi recorded his 100th career win.  Logan Lloyd recorded his 150th career win and 100th career pin.  Congratulations Logan and Jackson.  The Chargers will be back in action this weekend at St. Mary's High School for the Division III Duals. The team will wrestle 9 matches over a two day span.

Varsity/JV Wrestling - Maumee Bay Classic

The Charger Wrestling Team capped off a successful weekend both at the Varsity and JV level.  The varsity took 4th at the Maumee Bay Classic out of 56 teams.  Leading the way for the Chargers were Abe Hermes and Logan Lloyd who both finished as runner-up in their respective weight class.  Max Hermes took 3rd losing to only the #2 kid in the nation by a score of 6-2.  Jacob Thompson and Jackson Berardi finished 5th.  Remington Bauer rounded out the scoring by placing 6th.  For the JV Aaron Febbo, Quentin Cox, and Walker Cisco went undefeated.  Ricky Miller went 2-1 and Tony Pendergrass went 1-1.  The Chargers will be back in action tomorrow night at home against Fremont Ross.

Edison Holiday Tournament

The Charger Wrestling Team had a very successful Holiday break by finishing in 2nd place as a team at the First Annual Edison Holiday Tournament.  Winning individual championships for the Chargers was Abe Hermes, Max Hermes, and Remington Bauer.  Taking runner-up honors were Marcus Medina, Duke Hermes, and Jackson Berardi.  Jacob Thompson and Logan Lloyd took 3rd and Clint Finnen rounded out the scoring by taking 4th.  The Chargers will be back in action this Saturday as they travel to St. Eds to wrestle the #1 ranked teams in Division I and 2.  Good luck boys!

The Charger Wrestling Team won the Edison Invite this past weekend by scoring 281.5 points.  Winning individual titles were Max Hermes, Marcus Medina, Logan Lloyd, Jacob Thompson, and Jackson Berardi.  Taking 2nd place was Abe Hermes, Duke Hermes, Remington Bauer, and Clint Finnen.  Finishing in 3rd place was Ricky Miller and 4th place Walker Cisco.  Rounding out the scoring was Aaron Febbo and Tony Pendergrass in 5th place and Cory Preston took 6th.  It was a great team effort for the Chargers!

Varsity Wrestling - State Runner-Up

The Charger Wrestling Team capped off an amazing season with a runner-up finish at the Division III State Wrestling Tournament this past weekend.  The Chargers finished behind #1 ranked Legacy Christian by just 10.5 points.  The runner-up finish marks the highest placement in school history.  Bringing home state titles for the Chargers were Max Hermes and Casey Barnett.  This is the first time in school history that the Chargers have had two state champions in one season and Casey Barnett became the school's first even multiple time state champion.  Also placing for the Chargers were Shad Slone (2nd), Logan Lloyd (4th), Kohen Horvath (6th), Remington Bauer (6th), and Marcus Medina (7th).  Great season boys!!

Varsity Wrestling - District Champions

The Charger Wrestling Team won its second straight district title in dominating fashion this weekend by scoring 241 points which was almost 100 points more than the next closest team.  The Chargers qualified a school record 11 wrestlers to the state tournament.  Winning distinct championships were Max Hermes, Casey Barnett, Shad Slone, and Remington Bauer, Placing second was Logan Lloyd.  Marcus Medina and Kohen Horvath finished in 3rd.  Taking 4th were Jared Fantauzzi, Duke Hermes, Gavyn Klima, and Jacob Thompson.  Jackson Berardi will be a state alternate as he finished 5th.  The team will be back in action this weekend for the state championships at Marion Harding High School.

The Charger Wrestling team dominated the Plymouth sectional by scoring 316.5 points and advancing all 13 wrestlers to the district tournament.  Winning sectional championships were Max Hermes, Marcus Medina, Kohen Horvath, Casey Barnett, Duke Hermes, Shad Slone, Remington Bauer, Logan Lloyd, and Gavyn Klima.  Finishing as runner-up were Jared Fantauzzi, Jacob Thompson, and Jackson Berardi.  Garrett Scott rounded out the scoring by placing 3rd.  The Chargers will be in action Saturday and Sunday in Rossford for the district tournament.  Wrestlers placing in the top 4 will advance to the state tournament.

The Charger Wrestling Team won their 5th straight SBC Title on Wednesday night by outlasting Oak Harbor by 1/2 point in thrilling fashion. Jackson Berardi recorded a pin in the final match of the night to give the Chargers the title.  Winning SBC titles for the Chargers were Max Hermes, Kohen Horvath, Casey Barnett, Shad Slone, Remington Bauer, Logan Lloyd, and Gavyn Klima.  Placing 2nd were Marcus Medina and Jacob Thompson.  Duke Hermes and Jackson Berardi finished 3rd and Garrett Scott rounded out the scoring in 4th place.  Casey Barnett reached another milestone by becoming one of a select few wrestlers to ever win 4 SBC Titles.  Congratulations Casey!

Varsity Wrestling - State Dual Champions!!!

The Charger Wrestling Team brought another state championship back to Edison High School on Saturday night.  The Chargers defeated Sandy Valley 52-20 in round 1 to advance to the semifinals.  In the semifinals the Chargers had a heated battle with Applecreek Waynedale but prevailed 38-30.  In the finals the Chargers defeated #1 ranked Legacy Christian 42-27.  During the state finals match Max Hermes recorded his 100th career win and Casey Barnett broke the state record with 155 career pins.  Great job to the entire program as this was a total team effort.  The team will be back in action on Wednesday night for the SBC Tournament at Port Clinton High School.

The Charger Wrestling Team finished off a great weekend by going 9-0 in dual meets.  Included in that were wins over Aurora who is ranked #3 in Division II, and wins over Toledo Whitmer and Oregon Clay who are both ranked in the top 10 in Division I.  A special congratulations to Jacob Thompson for earning his 100th career victory.  The Chargers will be back in action this Saturday as they travel to Versailles for the Division III State Dual Finals.

The Charger Wrestling Team dominated the field at Rossford by bringing home eight individual champions and a team championship.  Winning titles for the Chargers were Max Hermes, Marcus Medina, Kohen Horvath, Casey Barnett, Shad Slone, Logan Lloyd, Jacob Thompson, and Jackson Berardi.  Taking 3rd place was Garrett Scott, Tate Corapi, and Gavyn Klima.  Clint Finnen rounded out the scoring by placing 6th.  Max Hermes won the Most Valuable Wrestler Award for the tournament.  During the day Logan Lloyd and Casey Barnett also reached career win milestones.  Logan picked up his 100th career win and Casey Barnett recorded his 200th career win.  The Chargers will be back in action this Wednesday at Clyde.

Varsity Wrestling vs. Oak Harbor (State Dual District Semifinal)

The Charger Wrestling team defeated Oak Harbor last night in the State Dual District Semifinal by a score of 48-26.  The Chargers were missing three starters from the lineup but found a way to come out on top.  Winning last night was Max Hermes, Marcus Medina, Kohen Horvath, Casey Barnett, Shad Slone, Logan Lloyd, Clint Finnen, Jacob Thompson, and Jackson Berardi.  The Chargers now advance to the State Dual Final 8 which will be held on February 6 at Versailles High School.

Varsity Wrestling vs. Wadsworth/Medina Highland

The Charger Wrestling Team battled with the best teams in Ohio on Wednesday night at Edison High School.  The Chargers lost 44-15 to #2 ranked Wadsworth in the first round and then defeated Medina Highland 42-15 in round 2. Going 2-0 on the night were Casey Barnett, Shad Slone, and Logan Lloyd.  Overall there were 37 individual wrestlers ranked in the top 20 in their respective weight class participating in the event.  The Chargers will travel to St. Paris Graham on Saturday to take on #1 ranked Graham in Division II and #1 ranked St. Ed's in Division I.  Wrestling begins at 1:00 PM

Varsity Wrestling - Edison Invitational Tournament

The Charger Wrestling Team had a very successful opening weekend by placing 2nd in the Edison Invite.  The Chargers finished with 333.5 points which was only 5 points behind Medina Buckeye who finished with 338.8 points  Winning individual titles for the Chargers were Max Hermes, Casey Barnett, Shad Slone, and Jacob Thompson.  Finishing as runner-ups were Jarod Fantauzzi, Kohen Horvath, Duke Hermes, Garrett Scott, Remington Bauer, and Gavyn Klima. Taking third place was Clint Finnen, Jackson Berardi, and Tate Corapi.  Cory Preston finished in 4th place.  The Chargers will be in action again this weekend at Ashland High School.

Congratulations to the Charger Wrestling team for winning their fourth straight outright SBC title. The team finished 56 points ahead of second place Perkins. The Charger Wrestling Team ran their record to 29-0 by dominating the Division III Region 18 Tournament on Saturday at Oak Harbor.  The Chargers beat Woodmore 74-0, Gibsonburg 67-7, and Oak Harbor 60-16. The Chargers will now advance to the Elite 8 in Columbus this Sunday for a chance to compete for a Division III State Championship.  Wrestling begins at 11:00 on Sunday. More +

The Charger Wrestling Team traveled to Wadsworth last night and stunned the #4 team in Division 1 in front of their home crowd 42-25.  The Chargers also defeated Nordonia 72-9.  Winning two matches on the night were Max Hermes, Alec Homan, Casey Barnett, Griffin Soviak, Shad Slone, Logan Lloyd, Jackson Berardi, and Cason Holmes.  Winning one match was Jared Fantauzzi, Hunter Vogus, Landon Cook, Jacob Thompson, and Jacob Brewer.   The Chargers are now 13-0 on the season! Congratulations to the Charger Wrestling Team for finishing 2nd at this weekends District Wrestling Tournament in Lakota.  The Chargers qualified six individuals to the state tournament which ties a school record.  Qualifying for state were Casey Barnett, Jacob Brewer, Ray Adams, Alec Homan, Jordan Keegan, and Shadrick Slone.  Jakey Neer won his 5th place match so he will be an alternate.  Logan Lloyd also finished in 6th place.  The team will be back in action this Thursday in Columbus at the state tournament. Varsity Wrestling - Sectional Champions

Congratulations to the Charger Wrestling Team for winning their 5th straight sectional title.  The Chargers dominated the 14 team field with 6 champions, 3 runner-ups, and two other placers.  Winning titles for the Chargers were Alec Homan, Casey Barnett, Ray Adams, Jordan Keegan, Shadrick Slone, and Jacob Brewer.  Finishing as runner up were Jakey Neer, Logan Lloyd, and Jacob Thompson.  Griffin Soviak took 3rd place and Garrett Scott ended up in 5th.  The team will be back in action this Friday at the district tournament in Lakota.  Each wrestler must finish in the top 4 in their weight class to advance to the State Wrestling Tournament. Varsity Wrestling - SBC Champions

Congratulations to the Charger Wrestling Team for winning their 3rd straight SBC Title.  The Chargers scored an overall best 220 points and finished just ahead of Perkins who had 219.5 points.  Winning SBC titles for the Chargers were Casey Barnett, Ray Adams, Jordan Keegan, and Jacob Brewer.  Jakey Neer and Shadrick Slone took home runner-up honors.  Also placing in the top 8 were Alec Homan, Garrett Scott, Griffin Soviak, Logan Lloyd, Jacob Thompson, Cason Holmes, and Jackson Berardi.  Jordan Keegan took home MVP honors by beating returning state placer Caden Blust 9-3 in the finals.  The Chargers will be back in action this Friday and Saturday at Plymouth High School for the sectional tournament.  The top 4 wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the district tournament. Varsity Wrestling - State Dual Runner-Up

The Charger Wrestling Team ended an amazing run with a State Runner Up finish on Sunday at the State Dual Meet Tournament.  The Chargers opened with a 54-18 win over Bidwell River Valley.  They then followed with a 45-23 victory over #3 seed Versailles.  The Chargers fell in the state finals to #1 seed and returning state champion Genoa by a 52-23 score.  The Chargers will be back in action this weekend as they look for their third straight SBC Championship.   More +

Varsity Wrestling - Regional Champions

Congratulations to the Charger Wrestling Team for winning the regional title this past weekend at Elmwood High School.  The Chargers went 3-0 in regional action running their dual meet record to 33-2 on the season.  The team will travel to Columbus this weekend for the State Dual Meet Champions at St. John's Arena.  The Chargers are the overall #2 seed and will face Bidwell River Valley at 1:15 PM More +

The Charger Wrestling team ran its record to 21-1 in dual meet competition last night by defeating Vermillion 81-0 and Tiffin Columbian 46-26. Going 2-0 on the night were Alec Homan, Casey Barnett, Ray Adams, Garrett Scott, Walker Cisco, Jacob Brewer, Cason Holmes, and Jackson Berardi. Varsity Wrestling - Edison Invitational

The Charger Wrestling Team won the 55th annual Edison Invitational this weekend with a dominating performance over the 10 team field.  The Chargers had six individuals win titles in Alec Homan, Casey Barnett, Ray Adams, Jordan Keegan, Shadrick Slone, and Griffin Soviak.  Jakey Neer finished as runner up.  Garrett Scott and  Cason Holmes were third.  Also placing in the top six were Cole Weilnau, Hunter Conley, Walker Cisco, Gavyn Klima, Jacob Thompson, Jackson Berardi, and Korie McKillips.  The team will be back in action Wednesday night at Fremont Ross More +
